zachary’s senior session

I will admit from the start that this boy belongs to me. Actually, I think he is the one that owns my heart.

I am still a little shell-shocked about being at this point in my life, to tell the truth. He was the last 2013 senior that I shot and I was fine during the shoot, but got misty-eyed when I started proofing the images.

When I shoot senior boys, almost every mom tells me that their son is only doing it because they asked, begged, pleaded or bribed. It was no different with my son. I had to ask and beg a little and finally pleaded and whined enough to get him out the door.  As a result, the t-shirts were a little wrinkled and the hair was too long and he could have used a quick shave. But I had to remind myself of what I tell my clients all of the time–it is about capturing their child at a specific point in their life.

And, truth be told, it really is about capturing this moment–long hair and all.
